Biography
Abbie was born in Wellington, FL on August 12th, 2001. After moving to Orlando in 2003, she began recreational gymnastics at the age of 4. She quickly moved into the competitive program and experienced success in both compulsory and optional levels. Abbie rapidly advanced to level 7 where she was one of the top 5 gymnasts in Florida. She scored out of level 8 and experienced a high level of success at level 9 by securing a 3rd place all-around at Eastern Nationals and 1st place on beam. In spite of having elbow surgery just before her first year of level 10 in 2014, she was able to earn first place on beam at states and regionals and qualify for NIT as a beam specialist. In her second year of level 10, Abbie qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup and was 2nd on beam and 8th all around for the Jr. Division.
Currently, Abbie is preparing for the 2016 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 25 to 30 hours per week at Orlando Metro Gymnastics in Orlando, FL under coaches Jeff Wood and Christi Mitchell. Abbie is working hard to reach her long-term goal to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
